Bridges

Bridges are used to fill the space created when a tooth is lost or a gap is naturally present. One or more teeth either side of the gap are used to anchor the bridge.

Using bridges, the smile can be restored where gaps are present and can be used to help restore the bite so that foods can be eaten properly. They are very strong, durable and natural looking and feel very comfortable.

Bridges can be made from a variety of materials.

Where aesthetics are most important, for example at the front of the mouth, the most natural looking bridge can be made entirely from very strong porcelain. Because no metal is used, light can travel through like healthy teeth, giving the bridge a very life-like colour and appearance.

The strongest tooth coloured bridge we can make is where the porcelain is laid down over a core of metal. This metal is usually not visible and reinforces the bridge so it can be used anywhere in the mouth, even when biting forces are strong.
