Porcelain Veneers

Before and after veneer treatment

Porcelain veneers are thin slips of porcelain shaped like a fingernail that are bonded to the teeth. They are particularly useful in restoring the front teeth and for problems such as gaps, misaligned teeth, chipped teeth, whitening teeth and correcting tooth discolouration.

They are very natural looking and extremely strong. Because they are made from glazed porcelain, they are very smooth and resist staining.

Two appointments are usually required to make the veneers. During the first appointment, the teeth are prepared and a precise impression is taken. Our approved laboratory hand crafts the veneers by building up layers of porcelain on a model made from the impression.

During the fabrication of the veneers, temporary veneers may be placed to keep the teeth covered and protected.

At the second appointment, the veneers are tried on to ensure not only a precise fit but also to make sure the colour is correct. They are then bonded onto the tooth using a very strong adhesive.
